Editing (21)

I added the shots of after Yasmin gets onto the bed, connoting the sexual tension between the two in the relationship as she is in her underwear. Afterwards, Yasmin is seen as getting dressed which is focused on her and also connotes the sexual attraction of the person behind the camera towards the actress, Yasmin. Some of these again were too long and did not fulfill their purpose, so had to be cropped to a length that was most successful.

Editing (20)

When filming at the location of Anglesea House, there were numerous outtakes of the shots used, for example Yasmin falling off the sofa and pulling unattractive faces when smelling and pretending t to drink the alcohol. Although, some of these outtakes were not successful, some were and could possibly be used in my music video. Due to these outtakes, I had to use the tool which cropped and cut certain parts of the shots out my video, which were not meant to be in there and looked unprofessional.

Editing (19)

This print screen shows evidence of how I put the important frame that I want to emphasise the most out of the music video, because although the whole video is focused on Yasmin, this shot in-particular as it focuses on yasmin looking and smiling at the other character and one of the camera angles focuses on the two holding hands. Therefore, where I wanted to emphasise this shot, I right clicked the shot and choose the option of holding the frame. This would extend the duration of the shot, making the focus more emphasised to the audience.

Editing (18)

This picture denotes the evidence of my editing where I have increased the speed faster and faster until it reaches the normal speed and goes back to normal. The normal duration of the shots are 100.00% but the previous videos reach speeds of 35.01% until it reaches back to normal.

Editing (17)

Where I made one the shots where it is focused on Yasmin smiling and the two holding hands and slowed the duration and speed right down and very slow, I had to slow down the other videos so it the shots did not go from really slow to a contrast of really fast. Therefore, where I slowed the shot down, I slowed the following shots down until I speed them up faster and faster until they are all back to normal speed.

Editing (16)

When constructing my video, I had the realisation that my videos and shot were far too long and parts of them were pointless. I took this as constructive criticism of myself and a possible idea to take into consideration when next filming. One of the shots I found to be far too long, was the one using the basketball machine as it was far too extended. Therefore, I used the razor tool once again to crop the shot to the length of which I wanted.

Editing (15)

I re-filmed in the arcade to do more activities, such as play basketball and ice hockey. I believed this to be a successful idea as it focused on yasmin smiling, laughing and looking at yasmin, connoting the happiness of the two and focusing on Yasmins beauty whilst she is laughing etc. I imported all the videos I shot at this location, then rendered them. Once rendered I made sure that all were at the length of what I wanted and all fitted in together well.

Editing (14)

This frame of shot was too long and extended, therefore it did not look as successful as I wanted and looked pointless and was not understandable of why it was so long..I decided to razor the clip to the time frame of how long I wanted for this video.

Editing (12)

Editing (11)

I found this shot to be successful as she is playing with her hair and smiling at the ground, this shows that the other person is focusing on her and her beauty and it is a point of view shot. The lyrics sing at this point of the shot "to the way she wears her hair down" once again focusing on her playing with her hair and tying in with the lyrics. I changed the speed and duration of this shot as I found it to be important and I found it also to be successful. Yasmin looked attractive and connotes her beauty and how much the other character is interested and attracted to her.

Editing (10)

This shot was the most important shot included in the music video, as it shows the two holding hands to connote a relationship between the two and how happy yasmins face is that she is smiling, Therefore razored this shot into sections and slowed the duration of the show where they are holding hands and the shot of the two staring at each other to under 50.00% speed/duration to emphasise the shot and to emphasise the importance and the meaning/purpose of this shot.

Editing (9)

This shot was in attempt to hide Millie's gender when they were going into the photobooth. The purpose of this shot was for the two to go into the photobooth, whilst the audience still believe the other character is a male, then reveal the gender of the other to be female when they have taken pictures and the pictures fall out of the booth, of the two kissing. The shot was too long and revealed Millie's hair, then revealing her to be a girl, which I did not want, I did not want her hair to be shown. Therefore I cropped the video to get rid of shot where the audience would have realised the gender of Millie. The shot of the pictures falling down was also too long, Although I wanted that shot to be intense I did not want it to be too long waiting for something, therefore I cropped the video to still make it intense and leave the audience wondering what they are waiting for, but not as long as the video went on for.

Editing (8)

I firstly filmed these shots of yasmin undressing in the bathroom, then under the water in the bath, struggling for breath, suggesting how she is helpless and the other individual in the relationship has to help her, as this is who she relies on. Yasmin looked successful whilst undressing as she looked attractive and cool, this was because she was slow and was in attempt to make it 'sexy.'

However, I did notice my mistake whilst filming as Yasmin has suddenly gone from undoing her nude bra, to instead of bare breasted, she is seen in a black bandeau, I did attempt to make this non-noticeable by cropping the shot to not include her breast area, but the shot would have been too short and mostly focused on the background of the shot rather than Yasmin herself. Instead I re-attempted the shot several times but was still not as successful as I had wanted. The conclusion of my decision to change this shot to make it work, was to re-shoot again of yasmin in her nude bra in the bath and cutting the video of where she undresses herself of taking her bra off. I still have the shots of her undressing included, but I just got rid of the shot of her taking off the bra and the shot of her in a bandeau. I still used the idea of her under the water in the bath.

Editing (7)

I placed the shot at the beginning of the video to tie in with the lyrics and the sound of the music, as the shots needed to be soft and slow, I wanted the sound and the visual of the video to focus of the actress, Yasmin, indeed it did. Before editing these shots, I had to render the videos, in this picture this denotes how I render the videos and the editing skills I have used.

Editing (6)

I started to import other files which were filmed from when yasmin has the prop of the cape, which she was dancing with, amongst the light shining upon her. These files did indeed run too long, this resulted in me cropping and cutting the shots to make the video more successful and fit perfectly.
I also slowed the speed and duration of these shots to 80.01% as this time of the shots fitted perfectly in time with the sound of the music and the lyrics of the music, for example when yasmin plays with her hair the lyrics imply "to the way she wears her hair down."

Editing (5)

This shot required editing, as it was intended for yasmin to be under the water then quickly coming up for air, short for breath and struggling and needing help. This shot was redone and taken several times as everytime Yasmin struggled when under the water, as she claimed the water went up her nose, or it hurt, or she could not breath. Although, my intentions were for her to be struggling for air, it did not look entirely successful as it looked unprofessional.

In the end, I scrapped this idea after filming the shot so many and it not becoming successful, I made the decision to no longer use this idea or shot.

Editing (4)

Finally, I got rid of this shot as I believed it to be inappropriate and Yasmin (the actress) was filmed unprofessionally and inappropriately dressed for  my music video e.g. was in underwear. I made the final decision as to refilm this shot in order to make the music video more successful.

I also found myself cropping more videos that I had film to shorten them and the majority of the videos had unnecessary footage. This was helpful as this meant I could add more shots and more footage and information into my music video.

Editing (3)

I found this video inparticular needed cutting and editing as the shot went on a lot longer than I had intended. The shot over run into footage I did not want. For example when the actress, Yasmin, is getting changed, it over runs onto her changing out of her jeans, but it was not successful as it was not the shot I wanted and looked completely unsuccessful. This was because it looked unprofessional, as her clothes were falling down and she was stumbling, whereas in comparison, my ideal plan was for Yasmin to look attractive and 'sexy' to conform to certain theories such as the male gaze, whilst getting changed.

Editing (2)

I found some of the videos I had filmed to obtain unnecessary footage which was not needed within my music video. I then had to cut the footage which I did not need, in order to do so I had to use the cut tool which is located at the right side panel and is the third button down, shaped as razor. To make this most successful, I had to find the exact point of which I wanted the shot to end.

Editing (1)

When starting the construction of my video editing, I began importing the all the videos that were filmed on the Canon onto Adobe Premiere Pro. I started to insert the videos to fit in time with the mp3 music I had downloaded also onto the editing software. I began to insert the numerous videos in order of sequence taken, then in order for I to view them, I had to render, which was enabled by after entering the videos, then pressing the enter button on the keyword, then a notification of how the following videos are being rendered. I analysed these videos I had inserted, to see if all are successful and best to the ability of myself.

Pictures

This was the pictures which revealed Millie's gender as a female. The pictures were successful as both look happy and together, they both look in a fun relationship as the connotations of touching each other and kissing each other, emphasises how they are intimate and sexually attracted to one another.

Millicent's Outfit For Shooting

Before shooting, the shot which includes Millie and Yasmin, I tested make up on them both. Millies make up looked most successful with dark powder, a golden glittery eyeshadow and other eye make up such as mascara and eyeliner. Millie looked attractive and would most definitely conform to the male gaze. Millie wore a floral blouse, underneath a green jumper and black trousers, with glittery socks and red brogues. Millie looked most successful as she conformed to the ideas expected of what an actress within the indie genre would wear and look like.

This shot was for the purpose of the final scene, of revealing Millie's gender as a female, as my expectations for my music video is for the audience to be convinced the person behind the shot of eye line view is a male, but yet I planned for them to be shocked as I once reveal as the end that it is not in fact a hetrosexual relationship, but rather a homosexual relationship between two females.

Location

These images were taken whilst filming of the location at which I filmed at. These are taken from London, specifically Southbank and the London Bridge. I took these photos whilst travelling from Charing Cross towards South Bank, planning to go on the rides and the arcade. These photos provide a brief idea of where I was filming and where I went and travelled to, whilst outside for my music video.

Clothing (Field Shooting)

This picture denotes what my actress wore to shooting whilst at the field location. Yasmin wore a dark burgundy, black and white fur cape, which was used more as the prop as the actress danced with the cape whilst in the field. Her hair was styled messy as I made the actress play and touch her hair a lot as I wanted to emphasis the line of lyrics "the way she wears her hair down.." The actress also wore dark, tight clothing again to conform to the genre of indie; including a black top and trousers.

Location

These pictures denote the location of which I filmed out, whilst outside. This location is an open space and a field. This location is most successful as due to it being an open space the sun can shine directly onto the field, which is what I wanted to occur whilst filming and indeed it did. The field is located in Saint Marys Cray. By visiting the locations, such as London, houses and fields, made the filming more organised and successful as it enabled me to come to a conclusion on whether, it was the right decision to choose these locations and whether I should still continue to use them for my music video. Organising this also enabled me to analyse the locations, to what I should change and how successful they would be when filming.
