Focus Group

Digipak Completed

Digipak Editing (17)

I finally used the shape tool to create lines behind the label record to make it more visually pleasing and interesting to audiences. Finally I filled the text and shapes in the colour used throughout to be consistent.

Digipak Editing (16)

Following the conventions, I used the song tiles which are featured on the album and I also included the feature of the logo, once again following the conventions of such media product.

Digipak Editing. (15)

I then added the label record name, the artist name and the song title with the same font that has been used throughout. The colours I used aswell connote consistency as these colours have been used in my album and poster.

Digipak Editing (14)

Once I had finished my album covers, I had to begin to create my cd. I started by using the shape tools, such as circle to create the shape of a cd. Then after added another circle shape layered on top of the large circle which I had filled black, then filled the smaller circle white to look like a cd. Following with the shape tool, I made a rectangle shape on the cd to add the label record in the shape (opus.) This was because I wanted to successfully follow the conventions, one of them being the label record featured.

Editing Digipak (13)

To follow another convention, albums always use the same codes and conventions, for example a barcode which I have successfully included.

Editing Digipak (12)

After uploading all the songs, I then had to use the magic wand tool to descard of the black around the font.

Editing Digipak (11)

Another convention of an album is to include copyright information and the logo of the company which produced the media product, which i have successfully done.

Editing Digipak (10)

Finally I began to edit the back of my cd for my digipak. I started with upholding the picture I was planning to use for my digipak, this picture was most successful as for the front of my digipak it shows the model facing the front and the audience, the inside shows the model on her side and finally on the back on the cd it shows the model facing the other way and with her back turnt away from the audience. I then edited the colour adjustment to fit with the rest of the digipak. Then as he picture shows I stared to use the same font, code, for the songs featured within the album which follows the conventions of a cd as songs which are featured on the album are included on the back of the album.

Editing Digipak (9)

This picture shows the points I made for the adjustment of colour on my digipak. This is taken from the inside cover of my digipak and the colour i have made such, this denotes the consistentancy that has been used throughout my digipak.

Editing Digipak (8)

To ensure I am consistent throughout my digipak, I edited the text which I have being using thoroughly (A font used from the website dafont called Code). I placed this font in an edit called colour dodge (add). This makes the text bolder, therefore standing out to audiences and also makes the outline of the font white rather than black, which i prefer.

Editing Digipak (7)

I then began to edit the front of my cd with making adjustments with the colour and expermenting which is best. I eventually chose the red option and began to position the points of the colour adjustments to which i found to be most successful.

Album Poster

This is my end result, which I find to be created to the best of my ability, as it is creative and abstract which I wanted. It also not only follows conventions, but I have successfully applied my audiences feedback to my work, for example people answered the most successful digipaks and posters feature the artist, or someone similar to the song or artist, I used my model which is also used in my music video and my digipak, this denotes continuity and makes it proffessional. This is also attractive as the use of colour and bold, out-standing font will most definitely catch the audience's attention, especially because I have used feedback from my own audiences I researched.

Editing Digipak (6)

Once I had finished all my editing, the rest was pretty straightforward. I experimented with fonts on websites such as 'dafont' and 'fontspace', until I eventually found the text/font I liked the most. I used this on my album poster and followed all the conventions, such as including the release date, the album name, the artist, and social media accounts and how to find them.

Editing Digipak (5)

After the main editing of all the images and ensuring they were most successful, I then wanted to make the image more abstract and eye catching, so I changed the colours of the image. I done this by clicking on the editing tool of image, then adjustments, then curves. After this, I choose all the different options of colour and found red to be most attractive. I played around the the adjustments of how increasing and decreasing I wanted the colours to be, after a while I found this end result to be the most eye-catching and what I was hoping to achieve.

Editing Digipak (4)

I then started to change each opacity on each layer, therefore making some more transparent than others. This created an illusive effect and making the image more abstract which I wanted for the end result. Some pictures stood out more, which is what I wanted to create. There was a couple of main images which I wanted to stand out, which in fact I did. This created a successful result and ended with what I was striving for.

Editing Digipak (3)

After this, I then arranged the pictures to all be equal lengths and widths. I positioned them to be in line with one another.

Editing Digipak (2)

I first started editing my album poster, by uploading the various pictures I took of my model in a range of different positions. I uploaded all of these pictures, by opening them up. I then pressed the layout of 'float in all windows' and started to drag all the pictures into the main image/background.

Editing Digipak (1)

Editing my whole digipak I began with the album poster. I had previously took various shots of my model Yasmin in different positions and facing numerous directions. I then began to upload all these pictures and then layered them on top of one another.
